Hi! My name is Joann but my friends call me Jo.

A UX/UI Designer based in Los Angeles, CA. Born with a creative spirit, I grew up always fascinated by Disney and longed to work with the mouse one day. I initially went to school for illustration, but changed to graphic design and graduated with an emphasis in motion design. Design has allowed me to become very organized and empathize with people in a very relatable way. Like Disney, I wanted to capture the imagination of my clients and emotionally connect with them to give a unique experience.

Going into UX/UI design, I was confident in my UI skills, but was more interested in the UX side because I loved the challenge of it. It was information architecture that specifically caught my eye. It felt like a puzzle game, trying to fit everything in the right places, and organizing pages and sections in a way where it is easy and intuitive for users to browse through. Designing for accessibility was also something that attracted me because, instead of designing for clients and their needs, UX felt more inclusive and was something that opened my eyes to “the average joe.”

I am always looking to find new connections or friends in the industry! Please feel free to reach out and look through my website! I would love to chat!

When I am not designing, you can catch me hiking in the mountains or trying to find the latest and greatest mobile puzzle game.
